After receiving your PVC, the fun begins!
To make sure that your new purchase lasts as long as it can, you'll want to care for it. Here's what we suggest:
- Wash in the bathtub or shower. It is easiest to wash while you shower. Dish soap, like Dawn, with a washcloth, scrubby, or by hand works great. NEVER wash your PVC in a washing machine! While washing, turn your PVC item inside out so that you wash both the inside and outside. Be sure to rinse off all soap.
- After washing, hang for 8 hours or until any water on the outside has evaporated.
- Once the outside is dry, turn the item inside out and allow the inside to dry as well. For a faster dry time, wipe dry with a towel inside and out before hanging or use a fan and dehumidifier to help.
- After drying, keep your PVC from sticking to itself by powdering with cornstarch. Baby powder also works but can be hazardous to breathe because it may contain small amounts of asbestos or talc. Plain cornstarch works just as well.
- Store either hanging up or in its own cloth bag (without any print as it can transfer to the PVC)
Now you can enjoy your PVC for years to come!
